Kaiser - Eye Exam

Just found out we can use our Kaiser coverage to get an Eye Exam.  Since there are several Doctors, I wondered if anyone had any recommendations.  Preference would be Folsom or Rancho Cordova.

Thanks!

Eye Exam

Beth,

If you are looking for an exam for glasses, Dr. Peng, at S.Sac is awesome.  He is also the Chief of the Dept. I went through three other Optometrist before I ended up with him.  His Rx was spot on.  Dr. Rabin is an Ophthalmologist if you want a full exam.  He will not write glasses Rx though. Thought I should clear that up since you said you wanted an "eye exam" and I wasn't sure which exam you needed.

I think just and exam?

I think just a routine exam for glasses.  We used to go to Costco but now that the exam is free at Kaiser, thought we'd change.   Thanks for the tips.

Opthamologist

If you need an optometrist. I would recommend Janis Lightman at Point West clinic. Just incredible! Works closely with the corneal specialists. If you need an opthamologist, they all seem to specialize depending on the eye condition or disease. Call Member Services or the MD that referred you. It sounds like you need an optometrist. It is a covered benefit with your copayment. Check to see if you get an allowance for the glasses as well. Eye services number can give you that info.

Thanks Nancy

Thanks Nancy.  Unfortunately we will have to pay for the glasses, so will probably take the Rx to Costco.
