Although the final drop off votes haven't been counted, a run off between Murietan, Julie Sams, and Supervisor Macglashan is likely.

It is interesting that both Julie and Gary ran, in part, against Macglashan's pro-developer slant. Voters have had enough of poorly planned projects approved in exchange for campaign contributions. If you add Gary and Julie's votes together, it's clear about half of district 4 doesn't want the sitting supervisor, Macglashan, to be re-elected.

Hoping for a final vote count that brings us a run off in November. Go Julie!

An incredible run

For an incumbent with 7 years of name recognition, who spent a ton of special interest developer money on her campaign, running against Sams and Blenner (who had little money and no campaign experience) this is a terrible showing for Roberta Maclgashan.

Supervisor Macglashan only avoided a run-off by approximately 100 votes out of about 50,000. Wow!

Macglashan's low voter support had little to do with redistricting, as she tried to claim Smiling (Her numbers weren't strong in long-established areas like Folsom and Citrus Heights). This was more about voters having enough of special interest land-use decisions that have brought great harm to the entire county.

My guess is, this will be Macglashan's last term in office. Either she won't run again, or will lose by a landslide the next time around.

Julie I respect your amazing showing and your good citizenship. Thank you for running. You are awesome!
