Active Rancho Murieta Singles
Meets the second and fourth Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. at MarShaTes in the Plaza. The group discusses and plans a variety of monthly activities, including travel, dancing, card games, sports and cultural activities.

Alcoholics Anonymous
Meetings are held 7:15 p.m. Mondays and 7 p.m. Fridays at the CSD Building. Contact: 454-1100. Al-Anon meets 6 p.m. Mondays at the CSD Building. Contact: 334-2970.
Alzheimer's/Dementia Support Group
Friends and family members of Rancho Murieta residents suffering from Alzheimer's or memory impairment are invited to monthly meetings at 6:30 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month at the RMA Building.

Bereavement Support Group
Bereavement Support Group, sponsored by Hospice of Amador, meets Tuesdays from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Rancho Murieta Association Building. The group provides a safe, confidential place for community members who have sustained a loss through death to share their grief. The group is facilitated by Marilyn Swabe and bereavement counselor Kathie Praetorius.
Bridge groups
Couples Bridge: Dinner is 6 p.m. and bridge is at 7:30 the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at the Country Club. Contact: Chris Pasek at 354-1590.
Duplicate Bridge: Sessions are held the first and third Thursdays of the month at 7:30 p.m. at the Country Club. Contact: Marjorie Monahan at 354-2110.
Ladies Bridge: This bridge club meets on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes lunch at the Parasol Room at the Country Club. Contact: Bobbi Belton at 354-0852 or Barbara Saevke at 354-9633.
Boy Scout Troop 633
The scouts meet from 7:30 to approximately 8:30 p.m. Mondays at the RMA Building except the first Monday of the month, when there is a Parent Committee meeting at 7 p.m.

Cancer Recovery Support Group
Since its founding in 1993 by Pat Shaffer and Maxine Walter, this group has provided support, information and networking for cancer patients and survivors, as well their families and friends. The group meets the second Friday of the month at 6 p.m. at the RMA Building. Contact: Pat Shaffer at 354-2256.
Catholics Returning Home
Catholics Returning Home is a weekly program for non-practicing Catholics held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church Sunday mornings from 10:15 to 11:45 a.m. Contact Steve at 444-3700 or 354-1468 (evenings) or Sr. Nancy, 685-3681.
Chess Club
Players meet at 1:30 p.m. Mondays at the RMA Building. New members are welcome and instruction is provided to players who want to learn how to play.
Cosumnes River Little League

Over the years, PTA has expanded its role beyond organizing activities to funding a myriad of needs. PTA fully funds the school choir, three educational assemblies and several scholarships. We also fulfill our teachers' wish lists, supplying globes, books and periodicals, computers and CD players, science/PE equipment and furnishings.
Entertainment, Theatre and Culture for Rancho Murieta (ETC)

This volunteer organization offers community arts, cultural events and activities for youth, families and adults.
Etc is a membership organization. Membership contributions entitle members to benefits and help support events.

Fishing Club
This club meets six times a year. It was founded by Bill Douros and now numbers about 50 enthusiasts who are dedicated to maintaining the quality of fishing in the community's lakes. They also sample the fishing elsewhere. Their yearly trips have included a trek to Alaska for salmon.

Girlfriends Group of Rancho Murieta
This group meets for coffee gatherings, dinner and drinks, walking, chick-flick movie nights, charity events, theater nights and more. It meets at MarShaTes' on the first and third Saturday of the month at 10 a.m.

Girl Scouts
The existing Girl Scout groups in the community, serving girls from 5 to 17 years old, need more adults to be troop leaders, assistants and helpers to allow them to offer membership to more girls.

Kiwanis Club
A community service organization with several programs that address special needs in the community.
One program places adaptive devices like walkers and wheelchairs on short-term loan. Another delivers midday meals to the homebound Monday through Friday at a cost of $5.50 per meal. The club also acts as the charter organization for Boy Scout Troop 633 and Cub Pack 633 and helps in the Adopt-a-Highway program.
The club meets at 7 a.m. the first and third Thursdays of the month at Rancho Murieta Community Church. Fundraising events include participation in Trash 'n' Treasure, Casino Corral, and selling refreshments at Fourth of July and other community festivities.

Kiwanis Assisting Neighbors Enterprise (KANE)
The group, founded by Kiwanis, provides lunchtime meal delivery to the homebound in the community; short-term loan of adaptive devices such as canes, crutches, wheelchairs and walkers; transportation for medical appointments, errand-running, minor house repairs and meal preparation for residents in need of assistance.
To become a KANE volunteer, contact Jackie Strain at 354-8895. Volunteers do not have to be members of Kiwanis.
To request KANE services, call 354-0538 and leave a message. A volunteer will respond within 24 hours.
Mobile Library
The Mobile Library visits Rancho Murieta Wednesdays between 9 a.m. and noon at Murieta Village. To request a book or for information, call 433-2029.
Murieta Cycling Group

Passionate for Christ
Passionate for Christ is a Bible study and fellowship group for women that meets twice a month. Community women of all denominations are welcome to join.

The Rancho Murieta Aviators Club meets Sundays at 8 a.m. at the Rancho Murieta Airport. On the first Sunday of the month, an informal open house is held and the public is invited to attend.
Rancho Murieta Bandits -- Gold Country Vintage Base Ball

Rancho Murieta Development Concerned Citizens Committee (RMDCCC)
The RMDCCC seeks limited and controlled development. Members lobby the county regarding Murieta's CC&Rs, open space, oaks, traffic, lake levels and wildlife. Rancho Murieta Optimist Club
A service organization focused on the needs of youth in the community, the Optimist Club has been a contributor to Stonehouse Park, the Little League, Summerfest, and the library and computer programs at Cosumnes River Elementary School. On the Fourth of July the Club provides free hot dogs and sodas for all kids at Lake Clementia.
The club meets at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday at the CSD Building. Fundraising includes Casino Corral and Trash 'n' Treasures.

Rancho Murieta Rotary International

Rotary International has a new presence in Rancho Murieta. The local club joins a family of dedicated community-oriented volunteers throughout the nation and the world, with 1.2 million members in over 200 countries. Rotary is open to adults of all ages, incomes and interests. All that’s required is a curiosity and the desire to serve.

Membership is currently more than 300 community women, and newcomers are always welcome. Activities include a bi-monthly luncheon meeting with a speaker; book clubs, bridge groups, a gourmet club, art, crafts, outings, and flower arranging. Dues are $25 a year. Rancho Murieta Youth Enrichment Advocacy (YEA)
Rancho Murieta Youth Enrichment Advocacy (YEA) is a volunteer group formed to promote and implement programs and projects for community youth. YEA's first project is the skateboard park proposed for Stonehouse Park. Information is available at www.rmyea.org.
Red Hat Society
The first chapter of the Red Hat Society was formed in the late 1990s by a Fullerton woman who thought women 50 and above should have fun "acting their age." Now there are thousands of chapters all over the world. River Valley Garden Club

Sloughhouse Area Genealogical Society
The group meets Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in the Murieta Village Clubhouse. If you are researching your family (or are interested in learning how to begin) then join in the fun. Activities include topics of interest, sharing of information, organization tips and much more. Our members are researching nearly 200 surnames in many, many states and countries. 4-H
Sloughhouse/Alta Mesa 4-H meets the second Thursday of the month from September to June at 6:45 p.m.. at the Cosumnes River Elementary School. Membership is open to youth from the age of 7 through high school. Outdoor and indoor projects include working with goats, horses, rabbits, swine and other animals, and learning art, crafts, cooking and other skills. 4-H members participate in the County and State Fairs and a 4-H camp is held in July.
