Bandits head to Santa Clara for California Cup

Your home town Rancho Murieta Bandits are hitching their wagons, and headed down to Santa Clara, California for the annual California Cup Championship tournament. Two sets of games are to be played on August 4th and 5th, at historic Washington Park, full of it's old time character and charm.

The Bandits qualified for the tournament after posting a 7-1 regular season record, taking the Gold Country Vintage Base Ball league championship for a third consecutive year. Just two years ago, the Bandits took the 2010 California Cup, and then returned to the 2011 championship game. After falling just short last year, the Bandits look to find better fortunes in the Bay Area in 2012.

The Santa Clara field is full of solid teams, two of which are former California Cup Champions: the Santa Clara Stogies (California Vintage Base Ball Federation) and the Amador County Crushers (Gold Country Vintage Base Ball 2nd place). The Bay Area Vintage Base Ball champion, Oakland Colonels, round out the field of teams.
