Niners hold Tournament of Champions

The RM Niners held their Tournament of Champions on August 16, 21 and 23. Peggy Harrigan announced the winners as follows:

1st Flight: 1st-Elaine Fowler, 2nd-Barbara Armstrong (after tie breaker for 1st), 3rd-Peggie Miller and 4th-Carol Kennobie.

2nd Flight: 1st-Jane Miller, 2nd-Peggy Harrigan, 3rd-Toni Vaughan and 4th-Dennie Standart.

The low Gross Winner and 2012 Niner Club Champion was Mary Lou Dininger.

On October 4, Mary Lou, Elaine and Jane will represent the RM Niners at the Championship Tournament at Valley Hi CC.

On August 30, the Niners held their Twilight Golf on the North Course. The theme for the evening was "It's 5 o'clock Somewhere". There was a putting contest which resulted in a 5 way tie for the Niners and an 8 way tie for the men. A drawing was held to determine Pat Tornberg and Don Fraser the winners.

The winners on the Front Nine were 1st-Dick & Mary Silvis-Frank & Mary Lou Dininger, 2nd-Jim & Joan Simpson-Paul & Judy Benjamin and 3rd. Ed & Mary Beth Alameida-Frank & Renee Renwick. The winners on the Back Nine were: 1st-Harry & Cathleen Riebe-Vernon & Linda Wallace, 2nd-Lyle & Elaine Fowler-Diana Gibson & Linda Williams and 3rd-Bill & Toni Vaughan-Don & Barbara Buzdon. The Niner KP winner on hole #2 was Joan Simpson and there was no winner of hole 12. Gents KP winner on hole #6 was Frank Renwick and hole #16 was Lyle Fowler. After play everyone enjoyed a delicious meal including chicken and ribs.

Our Charm and Putt tournament was held on September 6, followed by the monthly meeting and lunch. Nancy Ruff announced that Mary Carroll had the most improved handicap for August. Carol Randall presented the August awards to Barbara Armstrong and Barbara Buzdon for Birdies and Chip-in awards to Barbara Buzdon, Barbara Armstrong, Cathleen Riebe, Toni Vaughan, Jan Miller and Linda Grey. Pat Tornberg will wear the Putt Charm after a tie breaker with Karin Craig as each had 15 putts. Carol Fraser had a net 33 to win the honor of wearing the low net Charm.
