Rancho Murieta Voices sing at The Chateau

The Rancho Murieta Voices most recent outing was singing at “The Chateau”, a senior residence on August 2nd. And as expected all those seniors who attended had a really good time. A special reason for singing at this facility was because the mother of a really good friend of one of the Voices resides there, and she was able to attend with her mother and enjoyed the music with her.

This is the ultimate goal of the Voices, to give shut-ins a little pleasure; by lifting their spirits for an hour and singing the songs they remember and love. The Voices are always applauded during and at the end of a performance and being told how much they enjoyed the chorus spirit and when would they please come back. That is the real reason the Rancho Murieta Voices keep rehearsing and singing for our seniors. It is really just that simple.

The group is currently in the process of selecting some new songs to add to their repertoire and also considering retiring some of the songs that they have been singing for many years. This can be a hard choice to make so, much consideration is given as to what the Voices sing to seniors. Many of the seniors might not be able to leave their facility so the music is kept up beat and not sing anything that might make them too melancholy and hopefully they will know the song and can sing along with the group.
