RM Women’s Club plays Irish four-ball game
Playing the South Course on Tuesday, February 2nd, was more than Groundhog Day. Although, our shadows could be seen, the Irish Ball format of progressively counting more players’ scores as the round is played was telling. For the last few holes, all player’s scores were in the total team score. The winning team cleared the field by three strokes.
The team of Debra Canadas, April Carlson and Soon Lee, scored 156 to take First Place.
The Second Place team of Beverly Brown, Connie Heimbecker, Lil Ray and E. Jane White, edged out the third place team by a technical knock out (USGA tie breaker), with a score of 159. Third Place (159) went to Claudia Foutz, Melinda Frost, Chieko Martin and Linda Weatherholt. The Fourth Place (161) team of Ann Coeur, Ruth Dragash, Linda Lang and Marilyn Ramsey eked out the win over the Fifth Place (162) team of Sandra Huddleston, Fran Mezzio, Diane Raggio and Janet Watson.
Closest to the pin winners on Hole Seven included: Jean Paik, playing in the first group to play the hole, at eight feet, two and a half inches; Diane Raggio at 11 feet, one inch; and San Robinson in third place, just 12 feet, 4 inches from the flag. On Hole 15, the closest lady was Charlene Steving, playing in the second tee time, at six feet, seven inches; then Debra Canadas, at 23 feet, seven inches; and Ruth Dragash with 25 feet, seven inches to the flag.
