BAPTIZED INTO OUR PARISH FAMILY…Let us welcome Zachary Miles Pennington, son of Todd an Martha Pennington, and Dylan Brian Kershaw, son of Daniel and April Kershaw. As a community of Faith, we will continue to support the parents and their children as they grow in God’s love.
There is a Vacation Bible School "NEEDS" Pyramid display in Anderson Hall...Please take a “need brick” off of the pyramid of the need you would like to fill, and sign your name on the sign up sheet posted. CATHOLIC FAITH FORMATION NEWS…Registration will be in July for K-6 and EDGE families returning from EDGE from the 2009-2010 sessions. August 8 will begin registration for all new students to the program. Parents please remember that First Communion and Confirmation are each a two-year program. 1st and 2nd grade for 1st Communion, and 7th and 8th grade for Confirmation. If for some reason you can not make the above dates or times please call the church office at (916) 354-2403 and we will return your call to set up an appointment. ALL REGISTRATIONS WILL BE HELD AFTER MASSES AND MUST BE
C0MPLETED BY SEPTEMBER 3.
ALL MINISTERS OF SVDP PLEASE SAVE THIS DATE...There will be a Liturgical Retreat given by Fr. Wanser, S.J. on September 25. All ministers from SVDP and St. Joseph are invited to this retreat. Please watch the bulletin as there will be more information to follow.
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL’S ANNUAL SUMMER PICNIC...is just around the corner. We hope you are planning to attend the Parish Picnic on Saturday, August 14 from 4:30 - ?. You won’t want to miss it. Fun for all ages begins at 4:30pm including, water slide, slip n slide, face painting, beach volleyball, row boat races, etc. A BBQ dinner will be served at 6:30pm. There will be a sign up sheet outside the church, before and after both Masses, beginning July 10. Please sign up so that we have an accurate count for participation and food ordering. CATECHIST MINISTRY DAY...is scheduled for Saturday, September 18 at St. Francis High School in Sacramento and this year, we have designed a full website with complete workshop information and online registration/payment by credit card to make it easier than ever for you to get registered! (The process is quick, easy, and absolutely secure.) For English, go to: http://www.CatechistMinistryDay.com For Spanish, go to: http://www.EnvioDelCatequista.com. Please note that most workshops are limited to 60 participants due to classroom size limitations, so be sure to register for your workshops as soon as possible to get locked in to your choices. Workshops are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
THE ITALIAN FESTIVAL IS COMING AGAIN THIS YEAR...It is being scheduled again for the fall. Please read the bulletin for the date and time as they will be announced in the very near future. The planned activities and vendors booths will be larger than last year and much more inviting and exciting. Plan to put this event on your calendar to attend this year, as the proceeds go to our Church Charities.
BULLETIN REQUEST...Please e-mail to Jimi Collons at jnfes@sbcglobal.net all requests for items to be placed in the bulletin by Thursday of the preceding week of the weekend you wish your item to appear. All requests must be submitted in writing.
NYONE PLANNING TO SCHEDULE AN EVENT... will need to fill out an EVENT SET-UP FORM for any activity that is planned to be held at the church. This is necessary to prevent scheduling conflicts and to make sure that everything needed is arranged so that the event is successful. Please remember this is mandatory when scheduling any events in the church facilities. The form may be obtained by calling Kathleen in the office at 354-2402.
