St. Vincent DePaul Bulletin, March 14
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Mass will be held every Wednesday and Friday at 8:30am here at SVDP church, during the Lenten Season. We are blessed to have Father Kinane with us on Fridays.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS AND ADORATION: There will be no Stations of the Cross nor Soup offered on FRIDAY, MARCH 19, here at SVDP Church. Please plan to join us at the celebration of The Feast of St. Joseph with our entire Parish Family.
THE FEAST DAY OF ST. JOSEPH... is March 19, and OUR PARISH will honor him on this special day. We as members of this great Parish would like to show our support and help to honor and celebrate this event. There will be a special evening Liturgy at 6:30pm celebrated by six priests and 2 deacons. Following the Mass is a reception for parishioners. We, here in the SVDP Church office, look forward to seeing many of you at this special event. If you would like to carpool, please call Kathleen Black at the office, 354-2403.
FATHER ROLHEISER SERIES: The attendance at our Lenten series “Creating Sabbath Space in our Lives,” featuring Father Ronald Rolheiser, revealed a decided preference for viewing on Wednesday, after the 8:30 Mass. The series, therefore continues at that time only Wednesdays through March 24. All who have attended have had a very positive experience.
CATHOLIC FAITH FORMATION NEWS: Many of you picked up water on Ash Wednesday to help our students with their Lenten Project. Our theme again this year is “THE GIFT OF WATER.” We have expanded it to include our Faith Community. We hope that as a family you continue to discuss the importance of recognizing the many people who are in need around the world. There are over a billion people who do not have clean water. We hope you remembered to save your bottle after your family dinner. Please keep it in sight so that all family members can see it daily. Through your three acts of religion: prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, you can begin to fill the bottle with coins over the Lenten season. The FONT located in the vestibule of the church, with a purple cloth draped around it, is for the depositing of your bottles. Participating in this project will help the children to learn how their baptismal promise will be serving those who are less fortunate. The 5th and 6th graders will be leading the STATIONS OF THE CROSS on Tuesday, March 23, at 4:45pm. Thank you SVDP family for all that you do for our children and the less fortunate.
FRIENDS & FAMILIES OF S.V.D.P.: Please come and join us Tuesday, March 16, at 5pm in the large Social Hall for the presentation of “The Last Supper.” The children from CFF and FOF are presenting a play chronicling Jesus with his Disciples at the Last Supper. The children are inviting all parishioners to come out and support them. The play is written, produced and directed by Tammy Trapasso. Don't miss it! Mark your calendars today for Tuesday, March 16. Seating begins at 4:30 pm. We look forward to seeing parents and children.
PRAY FOR OUR R.C.I.A. CANDIDATES AND CATECHUMENS… as they continue to progress towards the Easter Vigil where they will enter into full union with the Body of Christ. Let us welcome ,Stephanie Ashburn, Craig and Kendall Horton, Thomas Landwehr, and Jeanie LeBlanc, as they continue on this Journey.
