Teams needed for bocce tournament

A sixteen (16) two-member team, double-elimination bocce tournament is planned in conjunction with the Fourth Annual Mangia Mangia Italian Festival coming up on Sunday, October 7th. The tournament will start at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6th, and conclude at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 7th, in time for players to participate in the other Festival activities planned for that day.

Matches and playing times will be established by blind draw, with awards and bragging rights to be presented to the teams who place first, second and third in the tournament.

The tournament entry fee is $10 per person, or $20 per team, with the proceeds going towards the Festivals’ fund raising effort to benefit the homeless.

Those interested in playing in the tournament should contact Joe Mazzoni, Sr. at 354-0197. No experience is necessary, and both men and women are encouraged to participate. Experienced bocce players will be present at the Lake Clementia bocce courts to provide instruction.
