The Rancho Murieta Kiwanis Club, chartered in 1996, meets twice a month – on the first and third Thursdays, at 7:00 a.m., in the Villas’ Clubhouse on Murieta Drive.

Our Purpose: “Serving our children and improving our quality of life.”
 
Sponsorships:
  • Cosumnes River Elementary School (CRES) through purchase of equipment and supplies, counseling by our Homework Club and skills enhancement through our on-site knitting class.
  • CRES 3rd Grade Dictionary Project.
  • Youth events: Children’s Concert, Easter Egg Hunt, Kid’s Fishing Day and Teen Night.
  • Youth sports, including Little League, Girl’s Softball and Lacrosse.
  • Scholarships to local high school graduates.
  • K-12 leadership training and community service through K-Kids, Builders Club and Key Club programs. 
  • Community events and fund raisers, including 4th of July Pancake Breakfast, OKC Corral, Blues & Brews, Holiday Light Parade, Toys for Tots and See’s Candy Sales.
  • Kiwanis Assisting Neighbors Enterprise (KANE) – providing the loan of medical adaptive devices, meals to shut-ins, non-emergency transportation to those who cannot drive and other support to families in crises.
  • Help with development of community parks and facilities.

Kiwanis’ July 4 'Breakfast on the Lake'

The 7th Annual Rancho Murieta Kiwanis Club’s 4th of July pancake breakfast is getting nearer. This year’s “Breakfast on the Lake” will be from 7:00 – 9:30AM in the Kiwanis Kafѐ at the North gazebo. 

Kiwanis Club invites RM residents and their guests to this festive event. Prices remain at $6 for ages 12 and up, $3 for 5 – 11 and ages 4 and under are free. That’s not bad for eggs, sausages, all-you-can-eat pancakes and beverages all while listening to the live jazz sounds of “Isaiah”, a light jazz ensemble.  Read more »

Kiwanis hosts hunter/firearm education training Feb. 26-27

The Kiwanis Club of Rancho Murieta is hosting a free California Department of Fish and Game Hunter Education Program training session in the Rancho Murieta Community Church classroom on Friday and Saturday, February 26 and 27, 2010. Classes will run from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.  Participants will be given the opportunity to make a small donation to help offset the costs incurred by the instructors.  Each participant is to bring a brown bag lunch, including a refreshment of choice, on Saturday.  Read more »

Kiwanis and Marine Reserves finish another successful Toys for Tots campaign

Toys for Tots

Michelle Hubbell of Plaza Foods and Kiwanian member Joe Mazzoni helped wrap up the 2009 Toys for Tots campaign on Saturday, December 19th.  The Toys for Tots campaign began on November 19 and toys were collected at many merchants and sites in the Rancho Murieta area.  The community of Rancho Murieta contributed 448 toys that included two bicycles, which is 81% of what was collected last year.  Well done to the community, Kiwanians and the Marines!  Read more »

Murieta Voices bring Christmas cheer to Kiwanis meeting

The Murieta Voices serenaded the Kiwanis Club’s final meeting of the year with a wonderful medley of holiday tunes.  Lee Holm, director of the singers, led the voices through some wonderful holiday songs, including a Hanukah tune and a stirring song sung in Swahili from the continent of Africa.  Read more »
