need your help," Sacramento County sheriff's deputies
stationed at Highway 16 and Murieta Drive talked
to residents and handed out fliers Tuesday morning
in search of leads in the killing of Deputy Sheriff
Jeffrey Mitchell, a nine-year veteran of the department.
He was fatally shot during a struggle after he pulled
over a white van near Meiss and Dillard roads about
3:30 a.m. Friday. If you have information about the
crime, call (800) 471-1700 or 874-6500. A reward
of $225,000 is offered. |
