ETC SEASON ENDS

America

[Sept. 4] It was the end of summer in a way as the Entertainment, Theatre and Culture summer concert series wrapped up Saturday night at Lake Clementia Amphitheater. About 1,200 people settled on blankets and lawn chairs for the biggest show of the season, America. Led by original members Dewey Bunnell and Gerry Beckley, below, the band's been touring and recording hit songs for more than 30 years. The show was loaded with their mellow hits from the '70s and '80s, including "Ventura Highway," "Sister Golden Hair," "I Need You," "You Can Do Magic" and "Horse With No Name," plus covers of the Beatles' "You're Going to Lose That Girl" and the Mamas and Papas' "California Dreaming." By the end of the concert, the audience was crowded around the stage dancing.
