FUN
FOR LITTLE ONES

(June
20)
They sang, they danced, and they learned about the
natural world around them. Saturday was a big evening for
smaller residents, their families and friends as the Banana
Slug String Band entertained at a Kiwanis-sponsored Entertainment,
Theatre and Culture event at Lake Clementia Amphitheater.
The ecology-minded band announced that “we fit right
in” with the spectacular natural setting, and proceeded
to delight the crowd of about 400 with songs about moose,
ducks, a redwood tree named Big Red, and a penguin. A huge
starfish circulated through the crowd during “Tidal
Pool Boogie” and Professor Banana Slug headed a conga
line of children who chanted, “ants, ants, ants”
during another number. More than 200 tickets were sold, organizers
said. The concert was free to children 12 and under. |
