Concertgoers enjoyed a beautiful evening -- under the moon, by the lake, with the Diamonds performing.

Diamonds sparkle at Clementia Amphitheater

With a full moon overhead and the incomparable Diamonds on stage, the 600 or so people who attended Saturday's Entertainment, Theatre and Culture for Rancho Murieta concert at Lake Clementia Amphitheater found themselves in rock and roll heaven.

The four Diamonds played and sang their own hits, including "Why Do Fools Fall in Love," "Silhouettes" and "The Stroll," and celebrated Elvis Presley, Bobby Darin and classic songs from other '50s and '60s groups. Over a hundred people crowded the dance floor to do the stroll, form a conga line for "Tequila," and slow-dance to "You've Lost that Loving Feeling."

"We were doing oldies when they were newies," said bass singer Jerry Siggins. The group's claim that "we're The Diamonds, and we're still rocking" was not disputed.

Pre-concert activities included picnics with family and friends and dance lessons provided by Melanie Greenwood of Premier Dance Academy in the Plaza.

The music had the crowd up and on the dance floor.

The Diamonds brought back the music of the '50s and '60s, including their own hits and tributes to other stars.
