More than 1,000 see Pablo Cruise open third Etc. season

The Entertainment, Theatre and Culture community group started its third season in a big way by hosting the reunion of '70s group Pablo Cruise Saturday evening and filling Lake Clementia Amphitheater as full as it's ever been.

About 1,200 residents and guests gathered to hear Pablo Cruise and the opening act, the Shane Tiller Band.

The namesake of the Shane Tiller Band is a 9-year-old blues guitar prodigy from Roseville. The band started off the full evening of entertainment with a virtuoso performance of blues and works by guitar greats like Jimi Hendrix that brought members of the crowd to their feet cheering.

Pablo Cruise treated the audience to hits that included "Love Will Find a Way" and "Whatcha Gonna Do (When She Says Goodbye)." Their set was a solid display of musicianship that had the crowd dancing and singing along. It was the first time in 20 years the original members of the group had played together.

Drummer Steve Price, who lives in Roseville, was credited with organizing the reunion. It occurred on the eve of his wedding and was a gift to his bride, who was in the audience, front and center.
