MURIETA
GETS THE RHYTHM

(August
3)
Percussionist Michael Bayard entertained a crowd
of about 200 Saturday evening at Lake Clementia Amphitheater.
He played various instruments from around the world and
brought up audience members to help. Here he's being assisted
by Ashley Hinnebusch, 11, and Wally Boeck. The show was
put on by the Entertainment, Theatre and Culture group.

Bayard, once the principal percussonist with the Sacramento
Symphony, showed the crowd various types of percussion instruments
and the sounds they make. He played a gong, above, and a
standard drum kit, below, but he also played exotic percussion
instruments and even the trash can. He had the crowd up
and dancing for the finale. There's info about the show's
presenter, the Etc group, and its entertainment series here.
