Full text of RMA cover letter on release of financial information

This is the cover letter the Rancho Murieta Association includes when responding to member requests for financial information under new state law:

Dear Member,

You have requested information pursuant to California Civil Code 1365.2 relating to employee compensation of Rancho Murieta Association personnel. This information is still subject to the employees' right of privacy guaranteed
under the California Constitution.

The RMA Board of Directors has a duty to protect RMA employees' right of privacy. In order to fulfill this duty while complying with the requirements of California Civil Code 1365.2, the Board has directed that this cover letter accompany any information relating to employee compensation received by the member acknowledging that there are restrictions on how the member may use such information.

Please be advised that you may be exposed to liability and/or subjected to disciplinary action by the Association consistent with the Association's governing documents and California law if you sell this information or if you use this information for any commercial purpose, or if you otherwise misuse this information. You may also be exposing yourself to liability to RMA employees and/or others if you use this information to threaten or harass any employee or otherwise infringe upon any RMA employee's right of privacy, or if you provide this information to anyone not otherwise entitled to it.
