SUNDAY P.M.

Car wash

[March 24] How many kids does it take to wash a car? Young Murietans turned out in full force Sunday to wash cars at the Rancho Murieta Association parking lot to help one of their own. Volunteers staged the fundraising event for the Nelson family whose son, Justin Nelson, 15, has struggled with leukemia for six years and now requires a bone marrow transplant.


SATURDAY P.M.

Open house

[March 24] Hundreds turned out for the Country Club's open house Saturday afternoon to enjoy live music and hors d'oeuvres inside the clubhouse and a great springtime view of the North Course from the terrace.


SATURDAY A.M.

Balloon

[March 24] Kids and grown-ups alike chased the hot air balloon that brushed treetops along Puerto Drive about 9 a.m. Saturday before it landed briefly in a field behind the homes.


FRIDAY P.M.

Dance

[March 23] The Cosumnes River Elementary School's annual Father-Daughter dinner dance took place at the Country Club Friday night with hundreds showing up for fun that included hula-hoops and music in keeping with the 1950s theme. There were lots of poodle skirts and everybody danced the Stroll. This being Rancho Murieta, they did the Chicken Dance, too.
