Big week

The community's biggest entertainment week of the year starts tonight, with Entertainment, Theatre & Culture's presentation of Chicago Tribute Authority at Lake Clementia.  On Monday, Stonehouse Bistro in the Plaza hosts a jazz and wine event.  On Friday, there's an encore performance by Spencer Day at the Country Club.  And the week concludes next weekend with the July 4 festivities.  Here's a look at the week:

  • Chicago Tribute Authority offers the sound of the legendary group Chicago, recreating the group's 40 years of hits. Tonight's show, at Lake Clementia Amphitheater, costs $20 for ETC members and $30 for non-members.  The show begins at 8:30 p.m., and gates open at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at MarShaTes and the Rancho Murieta Business Center in the Plaza.  There's more info here.
  • The Stonehouse Bistro event Monday features four new summer releases from Gold Note Winery in Fair Play that are paired with four tapas and cool jazz from the "A" Train Jazz Quartet. The casual event begins at 6 p.m. with open seating in the bar, wine room and patio. The cost is $30 per person plus tax and gratuity. To RSVP, call 354-2600 or 607-9170.
  • The Country Club is hosting a CD release party Friday for Spencer Day.  Day's music, which drew raves in a previous performance at the Club, is a mix of jazz, standards, cabaret, soul, folk and pop.  The event, open to club members and their guests, costs $20 per person and Includes a dessert buffet and one cocktail/beverage.  Seating is at 7:30 p.m. and the show is at 8:30.  Call Cheryl at 354-3400 for reservations.  There's more info here.
  • July 4 is a day like no other here, as almost every Murietan can attest.  The full rundown of the day's activities is here.
