The 10th Summerfest brightens the skies over Stonehouse Park

As the sun set Friday at Stonehouse Park, it was clear Summerfest had once again worked its magic. Hundreds turned out for the 10th celebration and enjoyed carnival rides and carnival treats like funnel cakes and snow cones. The carnival continues Saturday at noon, and a fireworks display takes place at 9:30 p.m. at the park. Here's the full schedule of events.

There was plenty to keep young carnival goers on the go. The big kids get their own car show Saturday.

Favorite rides like the Zipper were welcomed back along with the roller coaster and ferris wheel.

Eighteen-month-old Holly Primicerio liked the boats as much as the prizes at this midway game.

If you were a little older, you wanted to test your skills and win a prize.

The tethered hot air balloon, new this year, returns Saturday evening. The opportunity to bob above the crowd costs $5. Yes, it's the same balloon company that has been seen floating over the community in recent days.

Member Bill Gengler has checked in with his own Summerfest photos. See them in his gallery. Do you have any? We'd all like to see them -- especially if your family is in them. Send them to editor@ranchomurieta.com and we'll get your gallery going.

You attended this year's Summerfest, the 10th, but were you at the first? Here's a look back, compliments of the RM.com archives. (And don't mind that the page looks primitive. Hey, it was nine years ago -- we all looked different then.)
