Letter to my neighbor...

By Patrick Price
Created 02/28/2010 - 11:17pm

Not so sure how to begin this and probably just shooting in the dark, but I'm hoping that the person that so loves to complain about me may actually read this.

Before I begin, I'd love to introduce myself.  My name is Patrick Price.  I'm the guy that drives the red 4-door Jeep wrangler, the guy that owns "Sam" the pure-bred German Shepherd, and the guy that bought the house at 6361 Puerto last Summer.

Prior to me buying this house, it sat vacant  It's my understanding that it was vacant for about 2 years...Vacant and completely neglected.  It's the house that the neighbors have lovingly coined as "the church", I'm assuming because of it's huge white columns at the entrance.

The reason that I am writing this letter is that since I moved in last July, I have had to deal with at least 4 complaints thru the RMA.  The first came shortly after I moved in and was starting to dig into the very neglected landscaping of this place and had a pile of rubish out on my curb.  The second came in the form of my jeep not being parked in the garage, and now the latest that I recieved just yesterday is about my landscaping in general.

I just want to appeal to you, whoever you are.  You have no idea just how hard I'm working to bring this home up to the community's standards.  I'm sure that if you can look thru your window to see my home, you can see that I'm a working, single father of three, and that all of my available time goes into fixing this place up.  You would probably also know that I am an employee of the State since I walk out to the mailbox numerous times during the week in my uniform and that by knowing this you would know that I've been subjected to a 20% loss in my paycheck over the past year.  Not that that's your problem, but it's something that's very significant to me. Kind of put's a person in a place of "Do I pay someone to fix my landscaping or do I buy groceries for me and the kids?"kind of spot.

So I'm going to ask you, whoever you may be, to give me a little more time and not be so critical of your own property value. I promise you that I'll bring this place up to our expectations and restore it to Asa's dream (Asa Jennings was the original builder of this home.)

I've met a number of my neighbors since moving in, and all have been so happy to see that the place is finally being taken care of.  If you're one of my neighbors that I haven't met, then please take a moment to catch me and say hello.  Now that Spring is upon us, I'll definetly be out front working in the yard on every sunny weekend.

thank you for taking the time to read this,

Patrick
