Women's Saturday tournament

One hundred RMCC lady golfers took to the links on Saturday, September 8th to compete in the Women’s Saturday Tournament.  There was time to socialize and get acquainted with others at the Continental Breakfast served before the tee time.  Luncheon was enjoyed by everyone after play. 

Spearheaded by RMWGC, Women’s Saturday Tournaments promise to be a popular offering by RMCC golf.  This tournament was reinstated by popular demand and gives women weekend golfers a chance to play golf in an organized group format.  There was competition for script to be used in the Pro Shop and golf balls were awarded for KP’s.   

The pro shop staff did a great job assisting the participants and doing the final scoring.

First Place – Angie Friedrich, Susie Birchard, Joan Lake and Linda Shephard

Second Place – Betty Lawson, Melissa Willis, Nancy Kilborn and Jahee Kim

Third Place – Cheryl Stepps- Johnson, Fran Mezzio, Diane Raggio and Bev Carr-Barrow

First Place – El Louis Waldron, Mardi Bryant, Adele Salzman and Sharon Croswell

Second Place – Ann Coeur, Cindy Doty, Ashley Shields and Erlene Mikels

Third Place – Claudia Faeth, Sandra Huddleston, Penelope Kahr and Claudia Foutz

First Place – Sylvia Compton, Molly Roscorla, Patty Reese and Judy Radovich

Second Place – Janet Watson, Sunny Stratton, Miok Kim and Karen Kehoe

Third Place – Marilyn Laver, Joan Shannon, Pam Werner and JoAnne Byers

FLIGHT 4

First Place – Gladys Snyder, Gene Snyder, Susan Dell and Keiko Lopez

Second Place – Dixie Pavloff, Barbara Saevke, Marilyn Moore and Elaine Fowler

Third Place – Kay Fagunes, Deb Viney, Joni Sullwold and Lori Bormann

The tournament was played on the North Course.  Hole’s 2, 6, 12 and 16 were used for Closest To The Pin.  It is always challenging to play a Par 3, be it that you are trying to win a prize or just make sure you walk away with a par.   Success in hitting the green with their tee shots were:  Jane White (1’3”) Linda Pohland (15’8”) Betty Lawson (20’7”).  On Hole # 6 Susie Birchard landed just 11” from the cup. Jane White (24’10”) and Joan Lake (25’5”).  Hole #12 recorded Janet Novak (5’6”) Cheryl Stepps- Johnson

 ( 7’5”) and Laurie Meteer (10’3”).  A very tough hole, but scenic is Hole # 16.  Shelley Wright (6’7”) Molly Roscorla (10’11”) and Judy Candlish (13’) made it look easy.

By the participation and enthusiasm of those attending, it looks like this tournament is a real winner for RMCC and RMWGC.
