Due to course aerification in September the RMWGC ladies did not hit the links again until October 2nd.  Low Gross/Net was the format and winners in Flights are:

A-GROSS: E. Jane White (82), Sheryl Berg (86) and Janet Novak (91)

A-NET: Penelope Kahr (76), Fran Mezzio (77), Lil Ray (77)

B-GROSS: Marlene Duncan (97), Margaret Niederberger (99), Betty Warner (100)

B-NET: Linda Weatherhole (73), Nina Heise (77), Masako Matano (77)

C-GROSS: Ginny Hoskins (97), Laura McAllister (102), Melinda Frost (105)

C-NET: Gene Snyder (73), Gloria Lawrence (75), MaryLou Craig (76)

Vicky Reynolds landed her tee shot on Hole #2 North 2’6” from the pin.  Second closes was Melinda Frost at 6’7” followed by Cheryl Berg at 8’2”.  Joan Lake (4’0”) claims honors as the only one to hit the green on hole #12 from the tee.

October also brought Straight Tee times to the RMWGC, replacing a Shot Gun start.  Unfortunately this has resulted in a decrease of participation by about 28% figured on a decrease from 50-60 players to 35-40 players. 

The team event, Money Ball, was played on the South Course on October 9th.  Three teams took honors.  A blind draw was necessary to fill out some of the teams as in the case of the 3rd place winners.

On Hole # 7 Joan Lake (8’7”) was first at being Closest To The Pin. Cindy McCarver (15’4”) and Marlene Duncan (21’5”) followed respectively.  When Masako Matano teed up for her shot on Hole # 15 she landed 26’ 7” from the pin.  Ruth Dragash (30’4”) took 2nd place from Soon Lee (31’4”) by 1 foot.

CONGRATULATIONS!  to all the winners from both tournaments.

Fifty-six ladies participated in Guest Day on the 16th.   Everyone compliments the Chef and Staff for a superb lunch.  The Fall preparation of the course is complete and offers great play for the next Guest Day, November 13.  Pick up your entry in the locker room
