The Holiday Parade of Lights started with about a dozen brightly decorated golf carts at the Country Club Sunday evening, and twins Analise and Erik Richter, 7, stole the show during the cart judging. The parade began by heading across the Yellow Bridge to pick up more carts, a fire engine with Santa Claus, carolers, and crowds of children and adults at Riverview Park. After a tour of Murieta South, the carts returned North by way of the pedestrian bridge and the party continued at the Gazebo. The parade was sponsored by the Kiwanis Club, and the newly formed Rotary Club provided hundreds of luminaria [0] to help light the dark and chilly night.
The parade staging area was like July 4 on Murieta Parkway...
...only much, much colder.
Of course, The Man made an appearance, atop a fire truck, and did an impromptu tour of Murieta North at the end of the evening.
Participants got to wend their way in the dark across the Yellow Bridge and the new community bridge.
