The Rancho Murieta Women’s Golf Club is currently enrolling members. If you have golfing privileges at Rancho Murieta Country Club, and have a USGA Handicap Index of 32.8 or under you are eligible for membership. The purpose of our organization is to promote the sport of golf and to foster sociability and friendship among our members. Our weekly play days are scheduled for Tuesdays. Our annual dues are just $60. Call Pam Werner at 354-1607 for further information.

Billye Ericksen, 2008 Handicap Champion
Posted April 27, 2008 by Nan ParquetteHm-m-m, Match Play, sounds like fun. Get to pick up and still score the hole. Plus and minus denote the scoring and the round doesn’t even have to be finished to declare a winner. The low handicapper gives strokes to the high handicapper. Winners move to the next day’s play. Sounds doable and so the annual RMWGC Match Play Handicap Tournament got underway on Thursday, April 17th. Read more »

GUEST DAY AND HAM HUNT TOURNAMENTS

Co-Captain Diane Raggio headed up the tournament played on the North Course. There was a Long Drive contest, won by Fran Mezzio. Connie Heimbecker was Closest to the Pin on #2 and E. 2-Best Ball Tournament

Many of the ladies had the opportunity to play with members that they had not played with before. The camaraderie was continued through lunch served at the General Meeting. Your game may have gone, to who knows where, but if you had the lowest number of putts for the round you win. Low Putts was the RMWGC February 19th tournament using the North Course. RMWGC Ready for 2008
Posted January 30, 2008 by Nan ParquetteBefore RMWGC members could tee off, to start the 2008 season, God washed the course and did some pruning. Did anyone see a few golfers pointing out which trees on the course they didn’t want missed?

RMWGC Year End

Entertainers, Sonny and Cher, in the guise of Cheryl Stepps-Johnson and Sunny Robinson, introduced the slide show with a rendition of I Got You Babe. Turkey Shoot

The RMWGC annual Turkey Shoot tournament was played on the North Course on the 20th. After play the ladies were served a traditional holiday lunch of turkey, trimmings and pumpkin pie. RMWGC Members Golf Travels

The games are for both women and men and are Flighted by age. Also participating was, Bob Hansen and Guy Brown, Jeff Hill and Dev Clark. Wives Nancy Hill and Marge Clark cheered on the group. Brenda Mann’s dark flowing hair and swishing hips, wowed the participants in the RMWGC Halloween tournament. Many of the members were also guessing who Lucy, of Peanuts fame, was. RMWGC Powerball Tournament

When you usually play from the Red tees, it is a sure thing to improve your game if you get to hit from the Gold tees. The yardage advantage was designated on six holes for RMWGC play on October 23rd. The team alternated driving on these 6 holes and chose carefully which team member was the DD Powerball hitter. Due to the scramble format there was no scores posted for the tournament. Four team places were paid. Read more »

Cheryl Berg, RMWGC 2007 Champion
Posted September 15, 2007 by Nan ParquetteThe RMWGC Championship Tournament is just that, playing for the championship of the club. There is the opportunity to win in each flight as well as having the game of your life and winning the championship. Both courses were used for the 3 round tournament, played September 4, 6, and 11.
After the 1st round Cheryl Berg led by 8 strokes over E. Jane White, 2001 & 2006 Champion. Cheryl widened the margin and posted a 229 to win the tournament.
This is Cheryl’s 7th time to reign as the Women’s Golf Champion. Cheryl has proven to be a formidable opponent andthe entire membership offer their CONGRATULATIONS! Read more »
Women's Saturday tournament
Posted September 12, 2007 by Nan ParquetteOne hundred RMCC lady golfers took to the links on Saturday, September 8th to compete in the Women’s Saturday Tournament. There was time to socialize and get acquainted with others at the Continental Breakfast served before the tee time. Luncheon was enjoyed by everyone after play.
Spearheaded by RMWGC, Women’s Saturday Tournaments promise to be a popular offering by RMCC golf. This tournament was reinstated by popular demand and gives women weekend golfers a chance to play golf in an organized group format. There was competition for script to be used in the Pro Shop and golf balls were awarded for KP’s.
The pro shop staff did a great job assisting the participants and doing the final scoring. Read more »
Hosting Niners and team play results

A day for junior golfers
Published August 14, 2007The First Annual Junior Putting Event, hosted by the RMWGC and chaired by member Cheryl Berg, was held on Sunday, Aug. 5. Thirty-three junior golfers participated.
The theme of movie characters was carried out on 9 holes of the putting green. Donated Leatherbys ice cream, Jelly Belly candy, Mother's Cookies and Coca Cola drinks were awarded each golfer after 18 holes were played.
There was a chance to better the final score by returning to the 9 holes and posting the lower of the two scores. Several juniors had a hole-in-one and everyone improved their total score the second time around. Most impressive was the junior's golf skills, their etiquette and overall conduct. Read more »

Published August 7, 2007Playing 18 and posting 9 was the RMWGC Tournament on July 31 using the North Course. Only Odd Holes counted in the contest.

Winners of two-week tournament
Published July 26, 2007"Oh! but for a chance to improve your golf score." Those playing in the Partner's Eclectic, for the past two Tuesdays, ending July17, did just that. The Tuesday, two-week tournament, gave a chance for the twosome to improve their net score. When pairing took place the handicaps had to be within eigh strokes of each other. Cool weather brought cool scores playing on the North Course:
