Entertainment, Theatre and Culture has announced its slate of acts for the summer season, bringing back some favorites nominated by the community. The season opens June 7 with Joel Mason's tribute to Elton John.
Mason's tribute show drew a crowd of more than 1,000 when he last appeared [0] at Lake Clementia Amphitheater, in July 2005.
ETC asked the community last year to help choose the acts for the 2008 season, its seventh at Clementia. Here's the full calendar:
- June 7: Joel Mason's tribute to Elton John.
- July 5: Papa Doo Run Run -- California beach music and classic rock.
- July 19: Highway 101 -- country/rock music.
- Aug. 9: Hotel California -- tribute to the Eagles. The band appeared at Clementia [0] in 2006, and ETC says it is the band the community most requested to return.
- Sept. 6: Celebrate with Peter Rivera -- He's the original drummer for Rare Earth (hits: "Get Ready," "I Just Want to Celebrate").
The title sponsor for the season is Karen Hoberg of Rancho Murieta Homes and Land.
