An evening for fathers, daughters -- and dancing

Conga line

There was enough energy generated at the Country Club Friday night to get the community through its next power outage thanks to the annual father/daughter dance sponsored by the Cosumnes River Elementary School PTA. Conga lines formed spontaneously from time to time as girl power found yet another way to express itself.

Dance floor

There were plenty of dads to guide dainty dancers through the Macarena, the chicken dance, the twist and any other dance that emphasized hopping, spinning, arm waving and exuberant choreography.

Crafts

In keeping with the underwater fantasy theme, there were little mermaids among the princesses. The event included a table for crafts.

Food

There was a buffet table filled with desserts. Each girl received a rose corsage, and everyone could have a photo taken to remember the evening.

Table

Elegantly appointed tables surrounding the dance floor provided a place for dads and daughters to chat over dessert.  This is dad Keith and 6-year-old Riley Hoffard.
