Stonehouse Pizza (was: Non-existent Customer Service...)
I am totally shocked at the service and bad customer service at the new Stonehouse Pizza etc.
Saturday evening, a friend and myself went to get pizza and Breadsticks for an evening of games and fun with our wives, well here goes the event. We order a 16" pizza and garlic breadsticks and was told it would be 45 minutes to complete the order. OK, so we go to the Mexican restaurant for a couple of beers waiting. 45 minutes pass, we go back to pick up the order and we see our pizza on top of the oven getting a suntan and then told the breadsticks were not done. We wait for another 10 minutes and then decided "Forget this" we want to go. we were then told it would be another 5 minutes for the breadsticks, my friend said,"Just give me my money back and don't want the breadsticks" then the manager had to be contacted to open the register to give us the money back. I made the comment, "This is not a good start" the manager in all of her customer service skills says, "We done 150 pizzas and no one has complained, so you are welcome to get your pizzas somewhere else from now on" My friend and I looked at each other and could not believe what we were hearing. I said, "You are right and that is just what we will do". The attitude and rudenes was finished by a cute quip from the young lady as we walked out the door--- "Don't come back"
I for one will never set foot back in that establishment. Just because they are in RANCHO MURIETA thinking they have captured customer base and we will put up with rotten customer service. I for one will drive down to Grantline Road to Fat Mike's Pizza next to Berts Diner and the Sheldon Feed Store. Great Pizza, super customer service and they appreciate my business. Do yourself a favor and make the drive and find out for yourself, gee they will even email me coupons to come back and save some money.
I sure hope this creates a spark of disgust with fellow Murietans and make this a call for the pizza place to change its attitude.
To recap: cold pizza, rotten customer service, attitude and not even wanting me to shop there again. I can take a hint.

I have had really great pizza at the new place and am thrilled to have another dining option here. If you have been down there I am sure you are aware they have had an overwhelming response and are having a difficult time training staff and trying to meet customer demand at the same time. These folks have brought two really good restaurants to Rancho Murieta and need to be congratulated and supported. Otherwise we will be back to driving to Plymouth or Grantline.

We just had a very good experience with this new dining option. Yes the staff is young but they try hard and the order was ready on time. I think the original complainant should have gone to the owners, manager, instead of a complaint based on one bad experience on this site. I may be mistaken but I think the owners are also our neighbors.

I would have been shocked too. We however, had a (mostly) different experience. We have been there twice and will give them a bit more time to get their feet under them before we go back. On the down side our orders were wrong on both visits but, on the up side staff was very nice.
If you absolutely won't go back but, don't want to trek all the way to Fat Mike's, Plaza market has all the needed ingredients to make a great Boboli Pizza and they make you feel like a valued customer with every visit

I think they've been overwhelmed and haven't trained the staff properly. On top of that, the sandwiches and pizza's are skimpy on the toppings. We haven't had the rudeness, but we have had the exorbitant wait for sub-par food. It seems that if they weren't ready to open due to training or bugs in the system, they should have waited a week or two to work those things out... Oh, and we've long been fans of Pizza Bell on Grant Line :) Who incidentally provide great heating and AC service through their other business. A great example of a local family run business treating us right. I hope the owners of Stonehouse can take these posts as reason to improve, and not pretend that things are perfect and it's better than nothing so we should be happy to have it.

Ben, sorry but I can't let your comment about the Bell Brother's Heating and Air go unchallenged. I did not have any good experiences with their company and absolutlely NO satisfaction from the Brothers Bell. I do however get a big laugh when I hear their commercials touting their commitment to customer service, so at least there is some good in the experience.

Bell Brothers = Scam Artists! They nearly got me to needlessly spend $8200.00 on a new heat pump system after my fan supposedly needed replacement. The fan had stopped and they told me it wouldn't start and needed replacement.
I had a friend in the business come up from Stockton and look at it. Fan was fine, new unit would not have fit through attic access, heat pump's working fine. Bell Brothers left me on (and paying for) "emergency heating" in the cold of winter.
I'll never do business with Bell Brothers again despite paying for a maintenence contract with them. Of course they're "Johnny-on-the-spot", there's big bucks in screwing customers.

We ordered a pizza to be delivered on Friday night -a busy night for a pizza place. Not only was it quite tasty, it was delivered in under 45 minutes. And, the price was reasonable. While we thoroughly enjoy eating a sit-down dinner in the original Stonehouse Italian Restaurant, having the option of getting a pizza delivered was a real luxury.
My husband also frequently orders sandwiches during the lunch hour, and he's quite pleased with the quality, how quick they're prepared, and the price.
Keep up the good work!

My family and I have dined at Stonehouse Pizza and had delivery service. At the restaurant, I found the management and help to be very courteous and pleasant. We ate at the counter and were even offered some free wine tasting. The food was very good and overall the experience was a pleasant surprise.
More recently I ordered two large pizzas for delivery. Again the help and delivery was pleasant and courteous. I was a little shocked at the price for two pizzas, which was close to $50.00. I have to be honest that I am cheap when it comes to pizzas. Usually, I purchase the Costco sheet pizza for $7.50, cut it four ways and put it in the freezer. So I called the management to check on the price and gave some customer feedback. However, the manager was very pleasant and courteous.
To sum it up, I believe that we all have good and bad days, they hire young people which we should all encourage, help them learn good customer service skills (like having change when delivering pizza
), and be thankful that we have the options we do in a remote area like RM.

I ordered a pizza the other night and the service was fine. My problem was with the quality and price. I picked up a small (10") pizza, with one topping, and the price was around $13.00! The pizza dough was approximately 1/8" thick! It was sub-Pizza-Hut quality! I won't be back unless I'm held hostage by the grand-kids.....

First I have NO financial interest in Stone-house Pizza. I notice the Nat"l Public Radio did a piece over the week end that an owner of an Oregon pizza shop had his costs for cheese, dough, and toppings go up over 33% in the last quarter. I suspect that those increases are the same at Stone-house. I don't like it , I also don"t like paying over $4.00 a gal at our Chevron, but I do because I want to support our local business. To do otherwise would cost me more for gas.

Like many others, I have enjoyed the convenience of our own Pizza/Subs/Yogurt place, and thank the owners for bringing this service back to the community. I like the pizza, not my absolute favorite of all time, but certainly worth it for a pizza craving. If you want doughy pizza, go elsewhere. Maybe the owners will get a deep dish pizza in there sooner or later after the process settles down on the current offerings.
Also, the Main Header for this thread is pretty misleading now. Is it possible to have a more neutral thread title to better characterize the diolouge? Each sub-heading is the author's responsibility, but giving the first author exclusive rights to the main link can be a problem. For instance, I could post something like "RMA Cable is the best ever, DISH is horrible" and I bet a number of posters would be on the thread. But the main header really wouldn't characterize the thread very well.
Thanks, Karen, for considering that minor change. And thanks again to the Stonehouse owners for their efforts for the community.

But not the worst.. I feel the price is way to high for a large 1 topping pizza, but I understand the price of food is going up too.I was excited when I heard it was going to open. But disappointed in the quality of my pizzas. I will still order from there just because it is close and I really don't eat pizza anymore, so if my husband is happy with it. I'll still order it for him :) Good Luck, I would love to see an increase in toppings :)

When the Stonehouse Pizza place opened up I was excited to have another dining option and decided to try it. I was disappointed to find they do not accept credit/debit cards but have an ATM in the restaurant where they not only charge you for the food you order but an ATM fee as well. In a pinch I took out a twenty from the ATM and ordered a french dip sandwich. I asked if they had a side salad which, in most places would be an additional $2-3 at most. They said they could add a salad and then rang it up for more than the cost of the sandwich! I paid for both but was again disappointed at the cost. Finally when my French Dip arrived, it was served with salad dressing instead of au jus. I asked for the salad dressing to be replaced with au jus and they replaced it, but the au jus was cold! At that point I decided I would not frequent the restaurant again.
Lastly, I have tried the more up-scale Stonehouse restuarant...unfortunately it didn't impress me much either...

This posting is getting very old. Maybe I was wrong? The owners live in the North Area if they can not defend their business I am not. It is clear they have a problem. The vast majority of neighbors posting have had a bad experience. They should explain or correct.

Catious about all comments since when they first started, they could care less about what they did to the customers at Marsha Tees , or whatever. They took up 2 parking spots. I waited for 10 minutes and then asked if I was a problem for them. The owner got very smart and spewed out, Do you have a problem. I got out and said, "Your damn right I do." Plus a few other words.
Obviously he wanted to be beligerant but, good for him, he backed down.
I think I hear the same now as to customer respect. I havent gone there, I will drive to Plymouth!

We have not had the new take-out pizza (when you're from the east coast, nothing out here on the left coast can compete)! Have had dinner at the "real" restaurant twice--left the third time after an hour with no order taken. Two or three lunches have been fine--good, actually. However, since RM is rumor central, has anyone else heard that the owmers want to return to their upscale prior location in La Jolla/wherever?
For pizza, we do Incahoots. Always great and great service.

Yours sounds like the customer service we used to get from the old Stonehouse pizza...
We have not had a bad experience since they re-opened, but then again we've only had them deliver and therefore were spared face to face conversation.
Too bad to hear about your experience, our area needs good clean restaurants with edible food and good service... I thought we could consider the new & improved pizza place on that list.
