RM Niners play March Charm & Putt
Elaine Fowler won the charm with a net score of 38 and Sharon Hearden won low putts with 16 at the Rancho Murieta Niners March 13 Play Day. Lunch and a general meeting followed the tournament.
Mary Beth Alameida also shot a net of 38 but was ineligible for the charm because she had already won it once within this calendar year.
Chip-in awards for February were presented to Liz Smaker, Elaine Fowler, Joni Sullwold, June Koefelda, and Barb Buzdon. Most-improved golfers for February were Barbara Armstrong, first; Bonnie Kyser, second; Ev Carpenter, third; and Peggy Harrigan, fourth.
The next Play Day for the Niners will be April 10 due to the aerification of the courses. It will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start followed by a meeting and lunch. We will use this 9 a.m. start time till the first of May.
Our Eclectic Tournament starts in April and the fee is $7. Make your check payable to RM Niners, write "Eclectic" on it, and place it in the Niners' box in the shoe area. Any questions, call Elaine Fowler at 354-2799.
Want to get your game in better shape? Our club pros will conduct a short-game clinic on April 29 at 9 a.m. and a swing clinic (meet at the driving range) on May 27 at 9 a.m.
Our first Guest Day is set for May 1 and has as its theme: "Birdies, Blossoms and Berries."
On June 19 (a change from the date previously announced and listed in our roster), the big Niner Invitational, formerly the River Valley Days, will be played. More details later.
Be sure to check the Niners' bulletin board for information on other upcoming activities. There's something for everyone. Membership applications are available in the ladies locker room or call Membership Chairs Karin Craig or Sue Girsch.
