Murieta Federal Development Meeting
IMPORTANT:
FEDERAL DEVELOPMENT MEETING
TUESDAY, APRIL 22ND 7:00 PM
RANCHO MURIETA COUNTRY CLUB
The United States Army Corps of Engineers meeting on cumulative Murieta development impacts to Waters of the United States, including cumulative impacts of draw-down to the Cosumnes River, will be held Tuesday, April 22nd at 7:00 PM at the Country Club. Please attend.
Why is this meeting so important? The Corps must release federal permits before the developers can build a single house. In other words, local (county) entitlements are only part of the approval process.
Many have asked the Corps for a full EIS. An EIS, though rarely implemented, is similar to an EIR, but under strict federal standards.
Please note: As requested, a federal EIS is, now, under consideration for Rancho Murieta, with a final decision to be rendered by Colonel Chapman. To get this far, the cumulative impacts of the Murieta development projects to Waters of the United States, as well as the Cosumnes River, had to rise to a potential level of National significance.
So please attend, and please bring your neighbors. FYI: Citizens have already lined up several expert speakers: from scientists to environmental group reps, to federal and state regulators who share many of our Murieta development impact concerns.
