Bandits Shoot down the Nine - Remain Undefeated

Mark "Manley" Walthers

It was another solid outing for the Bandits (2-0), as they took on the Ione Preston Nine (0-2). The Bandits came away victorious, posting a 13-5 win against many former teammates. The Bandits relied heavily on solid pitching performances by Craig "Shooter" Sheehy, Matt "Splint" Corsaut, and John "Deuce Hog" Dodson. Shooter tossed two innings of no-hit ball, and posted a 4 for 4 day at the plate with 2 doubles. Quite a day for the rookie Shooter!

Mark "Manley" Walthers gave quality innings all day as he manned the behind (catcher) in his debut at that position. With Rob “Rib-eye” Rinaldi and “Philthy” Phil Albee flashing the leather on defense, the Bandits kept most of The Nine hitters off the base paths.

The next test for the Bandits comes this Sunday, May 4th (1:30PM) at Amador High School in Sutter Creek. The Bandits will take on the defending champion Amador County Crushers (2-0), in a contest that will leave only one undefeated team remaining.

So come on out and enjoy the sites and sounds of Vintage Base Ball. The season has been a blast for ballists and cranks alike!
