Blues and Brews coming Sept. 27
Published August 28, 2008The annual Blues and Brews celebration takes place Saturday, Sept. 27, from 5 to 10 p.m. at Lake Clementia Amphitheater. The event offers blues music, beer and wine tasting, specialty food vendors, an arts and crafts fair, and silent and live auctions. Tickets for the adults-only event are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Blues and Brews is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club, Plaza Foods and the Rancho Murieta Association. CSD's water-storage requirements leave golf courses thirsty
Published August 27, 2008When the storage in the wastewater treatment plant ponds dropped below 100 acre-feet last October, the announcement was greeted with applause from board members, staff and spectators at the Rancho Murieta Community Services District board meeting. It had taken four years and cost the CSD $200,000 in fines and thousands more to dispose of stored wastewater to meet a requirement set by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board. Country Club hires general manager from Santa Rosa

CSD likely to protect Security officers from lawsuits
Published August 25, 2008Security officers who make a citizen's arrest in the course of doing their jobs are expected to get support from the Rancho Murieta Community Services District board in the form of a policy providing indemnification from civil actions. The matter will come to the board for a vote next month, the board decided at its meeting Wednesday. Read more »
Summerfest Day 2: Airborne daredevils and cool rides

[Updated with car contest winners] Day Two of Summerfest added high-flying skateboard and BMX exhibitions and the classic car show. All three were free. Two performances of the BMX show were offered Saturday afternoon on the Stonehouse Park basketball courts. Stunt riders delighted the crowd with feats of cycling skill on the ground and in the air. Summerfest lights up Stonehouse once again

It was goodbye to soccer fields and hello to magic as the rides, midway and bright lights of Summerfest brought out another side of Rancho Murieta Friday night. Once again Stonehouse Park was tranformed into an annual celebration of the best of small-town carnivals. Under a neon-lit sky, rides went up and down and sideways to the delight of the kids, and the tantalizing aromas of funnel cakes and corn dogs scented the air. The ninth Summerfest had begun. ETC wraps up season with 'Celebrate With Peter Rivera'
Published August 22, 2008The grand finale of the Entertainment, Theatre and Culture concert season takes place Sept. 6, when “Celebrate With Peter Rivera” comes to Lake Clementia Amphitheater for a dance concert. Peter Rivera made his mark in the rock world as the lead vocalist and drummer for Rare Earth. The band sold over 25 million records in the ‘60s and ‘70s and made top 10 hits “Get Ready,” I’m Losing You,” “Born to Wander,” “Hey Big Brother” and the enduring anthem “I Just Want to Celebrate.” Read more »
