The Rancho Murieta Association is seeking candidates for the position on the board of directors left vacant when board president Jack Cooper resigned Thursday. The six remaining board directors will interview candidates to serve the rest of Cooper's term  at a special open session that hasn't been scheduled yet.

Cooper was elected to a second term on the board last November. The three-year term expires at the end of 2010.

Cooper resigned from the board Thursday, citing "the content and conduct" of the board's open session meetings in April and May as reasons in his brief letter of resignation.
