Talented little ones conclude Summer Rec season

Families headed to Lake Clementia Amphitheater Thursday evening to enjoy a barbecue followed by a talent show put on by the children in the Rancho Murieta Association Summer Recreation program. The event wrapped up the five-week program. This year about 120 children from preschool through 6th grade took part, RMA Assistant General Manager Danise Hetland said. "It's gone by so fast," program coordinator Bridget Cohen remarked. "It went really well. We had a great time."

Happy campers cheered when Cohen began the show by introducing their counselors.

The 5-year-olds performed to "When I'm 64" by the Beatles. Second-graders opened the show with a Murieta version of dance history that included the Chicken Dance.

After the finale brought everyone back on stage for a hip-hop tour de force, the dancing just kept going, as did the picture-taking.
