[Updated 9:13 p.m.] Chris Pedersen, nearing the end of his first term on the Rancho Murieta Association board of directors, has resigned, the RMA confirmed Monday afternoon.
General Manager David Stiffler said Pedersen's resignation, effective last Friday, was submitted in an e-mail to board President Dick Cox.
When contacted by telephone Monday, Cox said, "I'm sorry that he resigned because I thought Chris was a good moderating voice on the board, and I enjoyed working with him. He was a very easy guy to work with. He was very straightforward in his comments, and I'm sorry to see him go."
Cox said he hadn't been able to contact Pedersen since receiving his resignation. An effort made by RanchoMurieta.com was also unsuccessful.
Pedersen had served as chair of the Finance Committee and presently chairs the Compliance Committee.
His term expires in November, along with the terms of Paul Gumbinger and Bonita Jones. Cox said the board will appoint either Andy Keyes or Candy Koropp to serve the remainder of Pedersen's term during the open session of the Aug. 19 board meeting.
Keyes and Koropp were candidates for the position vacated by Jack Cooper in May. The board appointed Jim Moore to Cooper's seat after questioning the three candidates at a special board meeting held in early June.
