Saturday's 'Celebrate' show wraps up another ETC summer
If there were a curtain, it would come down around 10:30 Saturday night. That’s when Celebrate With Peter Rivera will conclude an evening of entertainment at Lake Clementia Amphitheater and wrap another summer for Entertainment, Theatre & Culture.
Since 2002, ETC has been putting on shows at the lake, serving a variety of entertainment tastes to thousands of Murietans and their friends and families. This season, responding to the community’s requests, it brought in performers who offered Elton John’s music, the Eagles’ music, beach music and country rock.
Saturday, Peter Rivera adds another flavor to the mix.
Rivera was lead singer and drummer for Rare Earth, a band that made soul-flavored hits like “Get Ready,” “I’m Losing You,” “Born to Wander” and “I Just Want to Celebrate” in the ‘60s and ‘70s.
He’s got a distinctive voice, a hot band and great songs. In addition to Rivera’s hits, Celebrate performs the kind of good-time rock hits that never fail to get Murietans up off their blankets. There’s also a trio of female vocalists who do a Supremes medley and more.
The show starts at 8:30. When it’s over, so’s another ETC summer. There’s more information -- and a video of Rivera in action -- here.
Ticket prices are $37.50 for ETC members, $45 for general admission and $47.50 at the gate. Ticket outlets are MarShaTes, the Rancho Murieta Business Center (at the Plaza) and the RMA Building. Members’ discounted tickets must be purchased at the Rancho Murieta Business Center or from an ETC ticket sales table. Children under 12 are free.
