Summerfest carnival Aug. 24-25

The annual Summerfest Carnival, a fundraiser staged by community volunteers, takes place Aug. 24 and 25 at Stonehouse Park.

Summerfest 2004 

The event opens at 5 p.m. Friday with carnival rides, bounce houses, slides, food and refreshments, and a Texas Hold'em Poker tournament. The popular Hip Service band performs from 8:30 p.m. to the 11 p.m. close.

On Saturday, gates open at 2 p.m., and the classic car show, a crafts boutique and home improvement expo are added to the mix. The Chili Cook-off tasting starts at 5 p.m. and Summerfest Bingo, a new event, takes place from 3 to 7 p.m. The country-western band California Cowboys starts playing at 8:30 p.m., and an outdoor movie will be shown at the ball field after sunset.

In addition to all of the events mentioned, on Saturday at 4:30 and 6:30 PM Summerfest will present an Extreme BMX Bike Stunt show. The two shows feature’s the world’s most extreme bicycle stunt riders in a spectacular, non-stop, action-packed show. This show has entertained millions of people around the world at events like the NBA Playoffs, the Olympics, and top state fairs and festivals across the United States. Don’t miss it!
