Girl Scouts trick or treat for food donations

Call it a trick-or-treat repeat or a food drive in costume: Girl Scout Troop 1275 is dressing up to go door to door Saturday to collect cans of food for a local food bank. The scouts will visit neighborhoods on the North and South in pairs starting at 4 p.m.

There will be moms at the North Gazebo and Riverview Park on the South from 5:30 to 6 p.m. The girls will meet and bring their cans to both locations. Anyone who would like to donate food can drop off cans at either location.

The collected cans of food will be delivered to the food bank and Troop 1275 scouts will stock shelves there Nov. 9. They will also assemble Thanksgiving feast boxes for local families.
