County indicates approval but stops just short of OK for North developments

The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors pulled up just short Tuesday afternoon of voting to approve 282 homes for three developments in Rancho Murieta North.

The board certified the environmental impact report for the projects, and comments by a majority of the board indicated approval of the projects is likely.  Read more »

South subdivision approved

The Sacramento County Project Planning Commission certified the environmental impact report and approved the map for the Riverview subdivision at its July 23 meeting. The 140-unit Riverview subdivision and 99-unit Lakeview subdivision previously approved by the commission will complete the buildout of Murieta South once they are constructed. The projects were first approved by the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors in the 1990s, and did not have to go before the board again.  Read more »

Two men arrested after attempted vehicle theft, gunfire and manhunt

A suspect sought for six hours was captured near a home on Latrobe Road late Sunday morning following a pre-dawn attempt to steal vehicles at a Rancho Cordova race track and an exchange of gunfire with off-duty officers at Stonehouse and Latrobe roads, at the northwest edge of Murieta. Another suspect had been arrested four hours before.  Read more »

Howe was the opportunity to talk with well-wishers who came to say goodbye Wednesday, the last day she parked the Wanderer Bookmobile in front of the Murieta Village Clubhouse. Howe is retiring after spending most of her 35 years with the Sacramento County library system as the proprietor of the rolling library that makes weekly visits to Rancho Murieta.  Read more »
