'Wine, Women and Song'
Posted October 24, 2008 by RM.comThe Women's Ministry of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church is sponsoring its second annual "Wine, Women, and Song" evening at the church on Cantova Way. The purpose of this free event is to gather women of the community together to celebrate their shared Christian faith and friendship.
The evening begins with a wine and cheese social, followed by a special message from Deacon Dennis Merino. It concludes with a vocal performance by Audrey Langstroth and other performers. Attendees are asked to bring a bottle of wine or a cheese and cracker tray. Tables for eight may be reserved. Donations will be accepted for the

CRES Harvest Festival
Posted October 24, 2008 by RM.comThe annual Cosumnes River Elementary School Harvest Festival sponsored by the PTA takes place at the school, on Jackson Road in Sloughhouse The Optimist Club is sponsoring free bus service to and from the school. The first pick-up at the Plaza is 12:40 p.m. The bus will run every 20 minutes, with the last bus leaving CRES at 4:20 p.m. The festival offers an afternoon of old-fashioned family fun with a costume contest, the kindergarten cakewalk, pie-eating and jack-o-lantern contests, homemade apple cider and refreshments. Scout pumpkin sale
Posted October 11, 2008 by RM.comBoy Scout Troop 633 will hold its annual pumpkin sale Oct. 11, 12, 18 and 19 across the street from the Fire Station. Pumpkin sales provide the troop with funds to attend scout-sponsored events and purchase camping equipment. For more information, contact scoutmaster Kent Johnson at 354-2960.
Airport open house

Dancing Under the Stars

Blues and Brews
Posted August 28, 2008 by RM.comThe annual Blues and Brews celebration at Lake Clementia Amphitheater offers blues music, beer and wine tasting, specialty food vendors, an arts and crafts fair, and silent and live auctions. Tickets for the adults-only event are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Blues and Brews is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club, Plaza Foods and the Rancho Murieta Association. Summerfest

volunteers for youth activities, runs Friday and Saturday at Stonehouse
Park. The entrance fee of $10 includes unlimited rides on attractions.

Trash 'n' Treasure
Posted May 14, 2008 by RM.comTrash 'n' Treasure, the community's version of the yard sale, takes place at Murieta Plaza. This annual incentive to clear out the house and garage and make some money is sponsored by Murieta Activities and helps to fund community activities.
Summerfest Wine and Food Gala
Posted May 14, 2008 by RM.comThe 9th annual Summerfest Wine and Food Gala takes place at Rancho Murieta Airport. It's a large-scale event that features wines from Amador County and Napa Valley wineries and food from fine area restaurants. Entertainment includes dancing to the music of rhythm and blues band Love Train, live and silent auctions, and a flying demonstration by local aviators. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at MarShaTes or the Rancho Murieta Association. For information, call 354-0566.
