Community meeting

Members of the Sacramento Sheriff's South Bureau will be at the Community Services District Building to meet the community, answer questions and provide information.

The RMA Candidates Night is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at the RMA Building. Candidates for the three board positions are Roy Harmon, Andy Keyes and Candice Koropp. The seats are currently held by Koropp, Paul Gumbinger and Bonita Jones.

The forum for candidates for the CSD board will take place at the CSD Building. The candidates are Betty Ferraro, Wayne
Kuntz, Steve Mobley and Jerry Pasek. The two board positions up for election are currently held by Kuntz and Pasek.

The Rancho Murieta Association is holding a meeting on common area maintenance at the RMA Building.

The Community Services District has called a meeting on Security's powers and the community's views on the subject.  Location: CSD Building.

Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District Chief Don Mette will speak at a community forum at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Cantova Way. Mette will begin the forum with a presentation about the fire district and the services it provides to Rancho Murieta.

Mette was in the community recently urging the Rancho Murieta Association to give the fire district land for an emergency-services radio tower. The RMA had sought to lease the land, which prompted an angry letter, and then a visit, from Mette.

Residents who attend the community forum will have the opportunity to question Mette and a representative from the Sheriff's Department. Refreshments will be provided. For information, call 566-4399.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold a meeting on Murieta development at the Country Club. "The intent of the public meeting is to provide a forum to gather written and verbal comments on development projects in the Rancho Murieta area that are currently under review for a Department of the Army permit, as well as reasonably foreseeable development projects in the community," an announcement from the corps says.

The Community Services District holds the last in a series of workshops on recycled water feasibility at the CSD Building. The CSD currently provides recycled water for golf course irrigation. The feasibility study looks at the potential to use recycled wastewater for landscape irrigation as the community grows. The agenda and presentation are available here.

Representatives of the Elk Grove Unified School District will outline plans for the new Cosumnes River Elementary School.
