ETC opens 2008 season with wines, desserts and music

Hundreds set out blankets or lawn chairs, visited the booths and listened to music at Sunday's event.

Hundreds attended Sunday's kick-off event at Lake Clementia Park for the 2008 Entertainment, Theatre and Culture for Rancho Murieta summer season. They enjoyed a selection of wines from award-winning local wineries and desserts created by notable restaurants and bakery chefs. Live music was provided by Robert Monteleone's Symposium Jazz Band. Murietans have attended many concerts that took them on nostalgic musical journeys, but the Country Club’s sold-out performance Saturday of Moonlight Swing, a big band playing the wartime music of band leader Glenn Miller, celebrated a generation and its finest hour as well as its music. Moonlight Swing will bring the '40s to Murieta
Published January 20, 2008Moonlight Swing, a 21-piece big band, will perform the music of Glenn Miller and other big band greats 8 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Country Club.
Tickets are $50 a couple. The evening, which is open to members and their guests, includes dancing and light hors d'oeuvres. Read more »
Jazz Supper Club begins a new year

The Jazz Supper Club began its 2008 season at the Country Club Saturday night with a performance by the Steve Homan Jazz Trio, featuring vocalist Francesca Homan. Steve Homan has established a local, national and international reputation as a master guitarist during his 30-year career. Delbert Bump performed on keyboard. The next supper club takes place Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, when Brady McKay and her trio will set the mood with sophisticated love songs. Club members and their guests are welcome to attend the performanaces. Dinner reservations are required.

Published November 3, 2007The grand finale of the 2007 Jazz Supper Club takes place at the Country Club Saturday, Nov. 11. It features noted jazz singers Cheri Murphy, Ann Roach and Vivian Lee and pianist Jim Martinez. Club members are welcome to attend with their guests. Dinner reservations are required and can be made by calling 354-3400.
