A newly acquired legal opinion says the Rancho Murieta Association cannot on its own stop using member dues to support the cable system, the RMA announced Thursday morning. Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District officials made their second visit to the community in as many weeks with a community meeting Wednesday night. District Chief Don Mette used the 90-minute session to explain the workings and history of his department, the fire services received by area residents and the need for better radio reception here for public-safety workers. Neighbors take first cut at planning park for South

Representatives of a landscape architecture firm work with Murietans on the park's amenities.
A new park began to take shape Thursday evening when neighbors met with landscape architects to talk about what they want the 2.6-acre site to offer. The park site was carved out of a 21-acre lot in the Greens subdivision in Murieta South that includes wetland and tree-mitigation areas. Read more »
RMA committee takes steps to find alternatives to running cable system
Published April 22, 2008A special meeting of the Rancho Murieta Association Communications Committee was held Tuesday to establish a committee to quickly study alternatives to having the RMA run the cable system. RMA says it's willing to negotiate radio tower -- but in private
Published April 16, 2008Saying they were feeling stung about a private negotiation that the other side made public, the Rancho Murieta Association board of directors questioned fire and sheriff's officials Tuesday night about the possibility of putting a public-safety radio tower on RMA property.
