RMA proposes 1.7% dues increase and hike in cable bill

The Rancho Murieta Association is positioned to adopt a 2012 budget with an increase of 1.7 percent in monthly dues. If adopted, it would increase RMA members’ monthly dues by $2.05, from $120.70 to $122.75.  Cable TV is facing an increase too. Read more »

Fight over redwood nears an end

Bob and Janet Nicholson have front-row seats Tuesday for the installation of a concrete collar that will protect a manhole from root intrusion and save the redwood tree next to their Trinidad Court home. For 17 months, they have resisted Community Services District efforts to remove the tree, which the CSD says caused a sewer overflow in 2009. Rancho Murieta Association workers completed the excavation work Tuesday. Next up is the installation of a metal frame, then the concrete. The project is being carried out by the RMA and the CSD in an agreement with the Nicholsons, who will pay for the six to 10 yards of concrete used in the job.

RMA approves test of composition roofing in North

After lengthy discussion Tuesday night, the Rancho Murieta Association board of directors voted to allow high-end composition roof shingles to be installed at a home in Murieta North as a test of the building material. Deadline is Tuesday to file as a candidate for RMA board

The Rancho Murieta Association is now accepting applications for openings on the board of directors. A modest turnout at two town hall meetings last week was the latest indication of questionable support for a Rancho Murieta Association plan to build a community center and pool. The $4.5 million project would be financed, operated and maintained by RMA members and requires an affirmative vote by the majority of the membership to proceed. Read more »

RMA OKs dog park location and starts on Stonehouse use policy

In less than an hour and with just four of the seven directors present Tuesday night, the Rancho Murieta Association board approved a location for the dog park and began the process of establishing a use policy for Stonehouse Park.
