Security begins a new era of enforcement

Last month, Rancho Murieta learned the Community Services District can enforce a water-conservation ordinance but its Security officers can't enforce a curfew or vandalism ordinance. The Community Services District board of directors has decided to take an aggressive approach to restoring reserves that have been hard-hit in recent years. Neighbor says he saw a drug deal and criticizes Security's response

A Murietan who believes his family witnessed a drug transaction at the North Gazebo is critical of Security's response and the community's unwillingness to confront the issue of drug abuse. Car vandalized with can of house paint

A car parked in the driveway of a home on Carreta Lane was vandalized with paint late Saturday or early Sunday.

“This is a felony. That’s what the Sheriff’s Department told me,” the owner of the white 1998 Mercedes said Sunday morning as he attempted to clean up the paint caked on his car and smeared on the driveway and walkway. The owner, whose name is being withheld, estimated the damage at $5,000.  Read more »

Patrols stepped up, reward publicized following car burglaries

In response to two nights of car break-ins involving more than a dozen vehicles, Community Services District Security has stepped up overnight patrols and publicized a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the burglars.  Read more »
