Committee returns to discuss security issues

Village craft and bake sale is Nov. 3

The annual Murieta Village Craft Faire and Bake Sale takes place at the Village Clubhouse Saturday, Nov. 3, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Get a head start on holiday shopping with handmade gifts, decorations, greeting cards, jewelry, jellies, fabric items, and more.

Trash ‘n’ Treasure, the annual garage-sale fundraiser, moved down the road this year to the campus of Cosumnes River Elementary School, and Saturday morning’s turnout looked like quite a success.  Eleven-year-old Parker Faeth, above, was one of the customers, buying cherry tomato and bell pepper plants from Sue Sheridan of the River Valley Garden Club.  Instead of the leafy, meandering experience of past years at Murieta Plaza, the new venue allows straight-ahead rows of shopping.  Trash ‘n’ Treasure benefits the CRES PTA. There was a string of booths dedicated to raising funds for Murietan Doreen Ntale, who is battling cancer. Even with all the on-site parking, cars lined Jackson Road in mid-morning.  Also Saturday morning, Murieta Village held its own garage-sale event, right.

Security discusses vehicle citations and rattlesnakes

Speeding and stop sign citations were discussed at the Community Services District Security Committee meeting this week. Security Chief Greg Remson also reminded residents that spring weather has brought out all kinds of snakes, including rattlers. Read more »

Preschoolers sang "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" and presented Neal Denton of the Wanderer Bookmobile with a gift when the bookmobile docked at Murieta Village Clubhouse Wednesday. Library patrons from the North, South and Murieta Village contributed to the gift to thank Denton for his service to the community. County gives tentative OK to homes and shopping near Murieta Plaza

The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Wednesday to tentatively approve Murieta Gardens, a shopping center and residential project planned for land across from Murieta Plaza. The supervisors will take action on final adoption of the project July 27. Read more »

Village group takes lead on repairs of Murieta Drive

The Rancho Murieta Association board caught up on the status of Murieta Gardens at a special meeting last week. When the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors held a hearing last month to consider approving the project -- a residential and commercial development proposed for 53 acres across from Murieta Plaza -- the issues that emerged included the condition of Murieta Drive, which is part of the property, and access to RMA parks for the residents of the 95 single-family homes that are planned. Although the RMA discussed the project at its May meeting, there were no RMA representatives at the county hearing. Read more »

The annual Village Craft Faire and Bake Sale held at the Murieta Village clubhouse Saturday opened the holiday season with delicious things to eat and a wide selection of handmade items. One of the younger shoppers, Jaddy Price, 10, inquired about the fabric jewelry cases Polly Clift was selling.  On Sunday, the Murieta Artisans Holiday Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Country Club, featuring art, jewelry, glass, photography, hand-crafted items and more. Read more »
