It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... (No?)

With snowmen, reindeers and other signs of the holidays, it was Christmas in July for dozens of children who competed in the Rancho Murieta Country Club Junior Putting Contest Sunday afternoon in spite of 100-degree heat. The contest is sponsored by the Rancho Murieta Women's Golf Club.  The weather forecast calls for temps to back off a bit, into the mid-90s, for the coming week.

RMA Teen Program is extended into next week

The Rancho Murieta Association Teen Program is being extended another week.  The fun continues at Lake Clementia with a BBQ, games, friends, swimming and raffle prizes Tuesday and Wednesday next week.  Cost is $10 per night.  Text your reservation to 838-6977.

CRLL girls team is District 7 champion

The Cosumnes River Little League 11-12 Girls Softball All-Star team took the District 7 championship Tuesday night at Stonehouse Park with a 7-6 win over rival East Sac, taking two in the best-of-three series.  The girls go on to division play Saturday in Martinez. (Click photo for larger image.)

The Cosumnes River Little League 11-12 Girls Softball All Star Team plays a championship game at Stonehouse Park Monday starting at 6 p.m. If the girls win, they will be awarded the District 7 flag and move on to the division tournament in the Bay Area.  Read more »

Drive-through dinner to raise funds

Cyclone, a Girls Select Soccer Team, is offering a drive-through dinner July 24 to raise funds.  You can pick up a tri-tip dinner (with bread, beans and salad) from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Rancho Murieta Association Building parking lot.  Pre-paid tickets are $30 and buy dinner for four.  Call 949-3308. Sacramento County Supervisor Don Nottoli congratulated two new Eagle Scouts at the Court of Honor held at the Rancho Murieta Association Building Sunday afternoon. Seated are, from left, Boy Scout Troop 633 Scoutmaster Kent Johnson and new Eagle Scouts Dan Kalmanson and Alex Oushakoff.

RMA launches teen program with eight evening events

The Rancho Murieta Association will conduct a summer Teen Program -- for teens and by teens, with a bit of adult supervision.  The program, entertainment, food and fun, is open to those in seventh through 10th grades.  It starts this week and continues into July.  Events are $10 each.  Read more »

It's not too late to sign up for the Rancho Murieta Association Summer Recreation program. The preschool program is for ages 3 through 5, and the general program is for children in grades 1 through 6. The program starts June 14. More information is available here. Registration takes place at the RMA Building.

Car wash

Cars got all clean and shiny Sunday morning as the Cyclone, a U14 Girls Select Soccer team, held a fundraiser at the Rancho Murieta Association Building parking lot.  It was a good deal -- a car wash and a hot dog for $10.
