Rancho Murieta Women's Club
Membership is currently more than 300 community women, and newcomers are always welcome. Activities include a bi-monthly luncheon meeting with a speaker; book clubs, bridge groups (including a beginning bridge class), a gourmet club, art, crafts, outings, and flower arranging. On the newsstands the fashion magazines are all trying to "out weigh" each other with the latest and newest fashions. That's just the prompting we need to open the closet door, peer inside and wonder "will I be out of style this year?" What few things do I buy to update the wardrobe. 'Down Garden Paths' -- Women's Club garden tour April 25

April 25 will be a convergence of nature and art when the Rancho Murieta Women's Club will host their 7th Garden Tour. This year the beautiful gardens will feature magnificently landscaped vignettes of roses and a multitude of other spring blossoms. From the name, as you might assume, there will be beautiful paths to meander along, as well as many examples of interesting and unusual garden art and lovely respite areas. Cliff Dew offered lessons that are useful even inside a gated community.
Bringing humor to a very serious subject, Cliff Dew, president and owner of CRIME STOP USA, opened attendees eyes to some of the seemingly far fetched realities of the dangers of being victim of a crime in the real world, along with things that could actually happen here inside the gates. Living in such a safe enclave, it was a little hard to envision some of the frightening scenarios that were put to us at the first Rancho Murieta Women's Club Luncheon of the year at the Rancho Murieta Country Club on Wednesday January 23rd. For some of us in Rancho Murieta, safety around Rancho Murieta has meant pulling your front door completely closed, when you leave the "compound" but Dew opened our eyes that there are many more dangers than we allow ourselves to consider.
