In response to: Authorities search for man who fired shots at officers

Spacer 'Good Day Sacramento' had updates every 30 minutes

UPN31 "Good Day Sacramento" gave an update every 30 minutes and was really doing a great job about keeping our household informed, and also kudos to the web site for the great up-to-date information as well!

Spacer This was the only source of factual information

Thank you, RanchoMurieta.com, for your excellent coverage. While we were inside with our doors locked you were obviously out taking pictures and collecting information to keep us informed.  I started checking your web page at 7:45 and continued to do so throughout the morning.  You provide a great community service.  Keep up the good work!

Added note -- I was at dinner in RM tonight and everyone was talking about the great service you provided today and that it was the only source of factual information.  Thanks again.

Spacer The SWAT team did a great job checking my ranch

After the "wake-up" call from Sac sheriff I had no clue what to do.

I don't like walking around with a .357 Mag on my hip, but I did feel I needed one this morning. Nothing like having a six-man SWAT team search your property. El Dorado SWAT team did a great job, but they have no humor, all business.

Thanks to this site for the updates, I could get them nowhere else.

Spacer I should have checked here earlier

I should have looked here earlier. Needless to say you were the only news. With all the TV crews, I found nothing on TV. Thanks for all your good work.

Spacer The news coverage and the law-enforcement effort are much appreciated

Many thanks for keeping us informed as the police activity took place this morning.  Your timely coverage was truly appreciated and aided all the community in keeping our homes and families secure.  Also thanks to the many law enforcement agencies who responded so quickly, it gives one a sense of security knowing that this professional assistance can be rallied so quickly.

Spacer It was comforting to get periodic updates

It was comforting to be periodically updated to the goings-on in our community.  We back up to open space, and we seem to be quite vulnerable to those "on the loose."  We have lived here three years and six incidents have occurred close to us. We appreciate Karen's dedication as well as the phone call and loudspeaker announcement from the sheriff's office.

Spacer Your reporting spared everyone a lot of phone calls

Thank you for your promptness in reporting the shooting incident near Rancho Murieta.  Saved a lot of phone calls to people who had more important things to do than answering calls.

Spacer Thank you for the detailed and timely coverage

Thank you for the detailed and current news regarding the helicopters and the search for the man thought to have stolen cars and fired at officers.  It is impressive that the updates are so often.  I hope they catch the remaining fugitive.

Spacer RM.com was on top of this story, as always

As always, RanchoMurieta.com was right on top of this breaking story.  My husband left Sunday morning at 4:45 a.m. in the middle of the search and I wanted to call RM.com editor Karen Muldoon to alert her to his sighting of 15 police cars at the Country Store. He told me it was too early to call her, but I confirmed (wife was correct!) that anytime is a good time to call with information.

This is a key way for Karen to keep our community informed of happenings in RM.  She cannot be everywhere, but she can take your information and call her contacts.  I would encourage residents to call her, as she always follows up and we can keep current on what is happening, both good and bad.  Thanks, Karen!

Thanks for the coverage of this breaking story

Thanks so much for the coverage on this breaking story!  We checked KCRA.com and Sacbee.com and found nothing. KCRA-TV had very little to say, and when I went to RanchoMurieta.com I found out what was going on!
